When you submit PROC METAOPERATE with the ACTION=PURGE option and you do not specify the NOAUTOPAUSE statement, the procedure terminates with the following error message:
When you include the NOAUTOPAUSE statement, the text of the error is different, as follows:
ERROR: Requested function is not implemented. ERROR: Unsupported function
The errors occur because the PURGE operation is no longer supported in SAS® 9.2. In SAS 9.2, metadata records are always deleted physically at the time the deletion is requested. As a result, records are no longer marked as logically deleted. The functionality that is provided by the PURGE action in previous SAS releases is not required in SAS 9.2. Therefore, to avoid the errors, you should not use the ACTION=PURGE option in SAS 9.2.
